Experience 35 Global Marketplaces at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Global Marketplaces are our favorite part of the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, and this year’s festival features more marketplaces than ever before! 35 marketplaces can be spotted throughout World Showcase (and Future World) offering plenty of opportunity to sample delicious festival-specific food and beverages.

To make visiting the marketplaces easier, we suggest using a tray at the festival. Trays can be purchased (for $7.99) at festival merchandise locations throughout the park, and while some guests prefer to save the money by bringing trays from home we actually suggest purchasing the trays from the park. These trays are durable yet lightweight, making them easy to throw in a backpack or otherwise carry around the park. The cupholder is also made to hold all of the cup sizes at the festival, which can make it easier to use than the less expensive trays you may be able to pick up before your trip. If you plan on visiting the festival in later years, you could also bring back the same tray to use as the only piece that changes is the design.

We also highly recommend picking up a festival passport. In addition to being a cute (and FREE) souvenir, the passport book helps you keep track of what you eat and drink, and essentially works as a portable menu. When the festival is crowded, it can be difficult to read the menus outside of each booth in the marketplace with so many other guests trying to do the same thing. Additionally, unless you somehow have limitless stomach space, you may also want to use the passport to plan out where you’ll make stops to snack around the festival.

There is so much more to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival than the global marketplaces (though they are probably the part of the festival that most guests regularly visit), so we suggest spending at least two days at the festival if you have the time to spare during your trip. If one day is all you have, research what you’d like to make sure you get to do at the festival before your trip and have a game plan for when you arrive. Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s check out this year’s menus for the global marketplaces!

Additional Food & Wine Festival snack and drink options are available at all of the Joffreys locations around the park. While there are no discounts for items purchased from the global marketplaces, some locations give away annual passholder pins with purchase of food or drinks, and guests using the Disney Dining Plan may use snack credits on many items in the marketplace kiosks. As some of the items in the marketplaces are more expensive than the usual snack credit options, we think Food & Wine Festival is the best time to use the Disney Dining Plan as you will likely get a greater value for the cost of the plan.

There is also an option to purchase a pass for eight items from the marketplaces for $65. Not every item is included, and where the prices vary for every offering you’ll want to make sure you would spend more than $65 for each item you want separately before pre-paying for them.

Check back on the blog as we’ll be adding more Food & Wine Festival posts throughout the festival, and let us know what your favorite snacks from the marketplaces are!
