How to DisneyBound on a Budget

Picture perfect shoes. A new swinging skirt. The much needed hairpiece. When creating a new DisneyBound look, it can be extremely tempting (and not to mention easy and a tad addicting) to find a bunch of new items that work great for your look.

If I’m being honest, those new pieces add up quick, and I know I’m not the only one who can’t afford an entire new outfit every time I want to DisneyBound.  After a year of putting together DisneyBound looks, I’ve only bought two pieces for specific outfits. Trust me, it is possible to create your Disney inspired looks on a budget. Keep scrolling for some of my top tips.

Re-use and recycle

News flash: Lizzie McGuire made outfit repeating cool. Don’t be afraid to use pieces from a previous DisneyBound in a new one you’re creating.  Take this blue dress of mine. When I saw this in my closet, I instantly thought it’d be a great fit for an Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast DisneyBound. Reusing pieces does not look bad at all. I’m 100 percent serious.

Hit the thrift stores

If you’re DisneyBounding as a specific character, it’s understandable that you don’t want to splurge on pieces you may not wear again. I mean, I LOVE Her Universe and The Dress Shop, but those can be pricey. Try going to your local thrift store. You can find items at a very low cost that you might want to use for another DisneyBound, or won’t feel bad about just using once. Oh, and you have a good chance at finding vintage clothing or accessories too—a DisneyBound plus in most cases!

If necessary, shop!

If you have to buy new pieces for your DisneyBound, try finding things that you’ll wear in an everyday outfit too. A lot of times when I’m out shopping, I’ll find a shirt, dress, or skirt that I like then think of what character it could be used for as a DisneyBound.  This little technique makes DisneyBounding a whole lot easier.
